A recent visit to CFfolks left me feeling like an outsider questioning whether to return. CFfolks, stands alone among DC lunch places for the quality of its food and atmosphere. It is one of my favorite lunch places. Unfortunately, last week my experience at the counter was a disappointment. Not because of the food but because the guys behind the counter made it clear that I was not a preferred customer. A customer they knew came in after me and sat down two seats away. He got focused attention from both the owner and the other guy behind the counter. I got the cold shoulder even after attempting to order some dessert. While regular and loyal customers deserve some special attention, it should not be at the expense of less frequent, anonymous customers.
