Sunday we stopped into Cetrellas on the way back from Sonoma to try their special October menu. Each of the 3 courses in the $24.95 prix-fix menu gives a nod to pumpkin, the pride of Half Moon Bay. But alas, a bargain is no bargain unless it is well-presented, good food, and this certainly fit the bill. Spinach salad with thinly shaved cinderella pumpkin slices, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate dressing, perfectly pan-fried breast of guinea hen, with crispy skin and moist interior accompanied by pumpkin gnocci and wild mushrooms and, for dessert, a delightful pumpkin tart topped with caramel spice ice cream. Run, don't walk...for this menu is only good Sun-Thurs through the end of October.
