Center City Fruit Carts

mattylip | Jul 31, 2002 09:20 AM

I used to think that all Center City fruit carts were alike. That is, until I found the one on the northwest corner of 18th and JFK in front of the Chinese restaurant. This place has the best and sweetest fruit and one of the lowest prices of any cart. It is only $2 for a pound (the "small" size). Best of all, they have the widest variety of fruit that I have seen. Today I had the standards of watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew, pineapple, strawberries and banana plus grapes, peach, mango, orange and grapefruit. Sometimes, there are cherries, papaya and yellow honeydew.

I don't understand why their fruit is so much better and cheaper than the other places. Are there any other similar carts in Center City?
