Center City - burger lunch, what's new?

urbanfabric | Jul 23, 201802:48 PM

A friend and I celebrate our mutual birthday each August with a weekday burger lunch. We've done Village Whiskey, Butcher & Singer, Dandelion, and Shake Shack (we've repeated, I may have also missed a location or two).

Where should we go this year?

It's helpful if it's Center City, preferable west of Broad, although I could be willing to hop on the El if it still meant I could keep the whole outing at 60 minutes, or let's say under 75.

What am I missing? I also like the Good Dog burger and Five Guys/Shake Shack is my tie for (locally available) fast food. While I am open to a thinner patty, I really do prefer a thicker patty that I can get truly medium rare. Village Whiskey is my favorite burger in the City currently (although the year I went for my birthday lunch, they over cooked it. Blech.).

Rouge? Butcher Bar? I hear good things about Walnut Street Cafe (although it's a tiny bit outside of the radius). Are there other places that might be off the radar but have a good burger?

Cost is less of a concern, since I can really only eat so much at lunch and won't be drinking.

Village Whiskey,
Butcher and Singer,
The Dandelion,
Butcher Bar,
Walnut Street Cafe
