Celebrating Some Extra Special Occasions in DC

KWynn | Mar 29, 201611:41 AM     6

Long time previous DC chowhounder who's been off the grid since I moved to Baltimore in 2010...

My husband and I will be visiting DC (from Baltimore) for one Friday night and staying over at a hotel and are looking for top recommendations for an extra special dinner. We're celebrating several occasions: our 10th anniversary, his 40th birthday, and expecting our second child (due in July) and want a memorable meal.

To give you an idea of what we're looking for, we lived in DC for 7 years before moving to Baltimore and have previously celebrated special occasions at Minibar, Komi, and Citronelle in DC, loved Table 21 at Volt in Frederick, and usually enjoy our anniversary dinner at Charleston in Baltimore. Also had a fabulous meal for my 30th at Inn at Little Washington.

We prefer somewhere upscale but not too stuffy that will accommodate a reservation and some minor pregnancy-related dietary restrictions (unfortunately, no raw fish!).

Also looking for somewhere delicious for Saturday brunch before we head home. Staying at either the W or St. Regis for reference but will have our car.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
