Cecina Sighting at Santina

The greatest invention since the Falafel. Round pancake made with chickpea flour, served with a very nice spicy salsa verde and even nicer mild tomato sofrito. Combine it with any of the 5 "toppings" (tuna tartar, mushroom, shrimp, lamb tartar, avocado) for a very playful snack. So far I enjoyed the lamb and tuna. The tuna a little more since I didnt have to share it with someone this time, tho I did miss the company (that person is reading the board so I have to say it!). You get just enough "meat" for four tasty little wraps.

In Lucca, Italy they bake the Cecina in a wood burning pizza oven. Its thicker and can be eaten alone. https://eatingwithziggy.files.wordpre... Here its more like a thin spongy crepe, like the Ethiopian Injera.

On both visits I felt like I was missing a white sweater around my neck and a tennis racket. Its like eating at a somewhat undesirable corner in South Beach somewhere. But it still rather pleasant out, and I'm liking the unique fish/veg filled menu. So far so good
