Link below to Contra Costa Times review of Sea Salt.
An aside that COULD be a general board suggestion, but I'm hoping some people who ate at Sea Salt might answer.
I never ordered the sardines at Sea Salt. This is the second time, different reviewer and different restaurant, that mentioned deboning sardines?
Is that what should be done? My understanding was you eat the whole sardine, even the head if provided and if you are so inclined. I always think of the bones as a calcium bonus.
However, are there some sardines that are big enough that you want to debone then? Just personal preferance? If you had the sardines at Sea Salt are they big enough that you would want to debone them?
Has the waitstaff been sniggering at me all these years when they clear my sardine plate and it is empty? Like, look at that clod, she ate the bones.
