Catonsville gourmet

dining with doc | Feb 5, 201206:42 AM

Excellent and thoroughly enjoyable saturday night meal. Called 30 minutes before ariving and had about a 40 minute wait in the bar. It is BYOB so we were prepared with vodka and fruit juices and wine for the girls. Food centers on fresh fish and seafood. Had oyster sampler (6 for 10.95) with 6 different oysters which were delicious and perfectly shucked. Also had fried oysters and a seared tuna app. All were delicious and presented beautifully. Our dinners included boulebaisse which was more like ciopino but was yummy never the less with clams, mussels, shrimp and fresh fish. Also a grilled halibut in a lemon butter sauce and another halibut in a Thai like presentation. The fish included, fluke, rockfish, salmon, trout, hake, grouper and halibut which can be prepared 6 different ways with choice of 6 different sauces to finish. We had a very good layered smith island cake for desert. Our food server,Amy, was delightful and professional. Price including tip was $90.00 per couple not including our BYOB. Great first visit and definitely will return soon. Why can't more places get it right like catonsville gourmet?
