Catfish in Houston | Aug 23, 2002 03:09 AM

What's a good place for fried catfish in Houston and surrounding area? My nominee is Capt. Tom's, but it's a long drive from where I live. I've also tried Capt. Benny's on S. Main, but it wasn't near as good as I remembered. I spied it on the menu at Jax Grill one time and tried it, but it didn't even look or taste like catfish, particularly, and had way too thick a batter. Sudie's on Fairmont Parkway in Pasadena was pretty good, as I remember, though for an all you can eat place they were awfully slow bringing seconds and that's another very long drive.

Any places serving caught-in-the-wild, or does everybody have to serve the farm raised stuff?
