Catering Possibilities in Kansas City Area?!!

I am planning a wedding for approx. 150 people and I am on a budget, the reception is in Leawood, Kansas. I love great creative food and would like this for my wedding, but most of the caterers I have found so far with my budget are neither of these things. I am willing to do any combination of options as long as people get enough food and it is quality and I stay in my budget which is at $15 per head including plates, utensils, glassware and maybe linens and service. I know this sounds super cheap, but it is what I have --maybe I can get a Chef school to do it, have a small town caterer come in, get bulk pricing of different things at several restaurants and hire a service company to do the rest, or maybe new companies offering deals for experience and start up, anything...? Please let me know of any recommendations or suggestions of places, people, ideas or companies to go with (or cake people as well). I am new to all of this and wondering how I am going to pull it all off...

thankyou so much for your help!
