I'm getting married and we're planning a small (35 ppl)backyard wedding overlooking the Hudson in Nyack. We want to have an informal but elegant afternoon with special hor d'oeuvres -- high quality ingredients put together with imagination. I'm getting frustrated by the quality of the food suggestions the local caterers there have offered: stuffed mushrooms, eggplant rollatini, etc. We live in Manhattan -- do you think it's workable to start investigating caterers from here, to schlep up to Nyack (45 minutes away) ? or, will the additional cost of that make it a crazy idea ? The house there has a small, regular kitchen.
Does anyone have suggestions of extraordinary caterers in the Rockland County area ? or, in the Westchester area ?
