Catena Malbec Mendoza

Rella | Dec 29, 201106:15 PM

I thought Malbec was a grape - it is, it is, I know it is.

"The Catena Family, since 1902: Argentina's Mendoza Pioneer." written on the back of a bottle of "2009 Catena Malbec" written on the front label.

Written on the back of the label, it says "... has created a Malbec blend."

It goes on to say that 'Cantena Malbec is sourced from the family's high-altitude vineyards in Maipu (20%) Lujan de Cuyo (10%), Tupungato (40%) and San Carlos (30%).

Am I to consider/suppose/know that this wine is made from all Malbec grapes.

Their site is quite lovely, but just wondering from reading the bottle, what could one deduce if one were knowledgeable about wine. Any discussion here for me?
