Visiting the Wilmington area on vacation. Just had lunch at Catch in downtown. Our party had five different dishes and all were terrific. Shrimp and Grits - perfectly fried shrimp (lightly breaded) on a bed of savory, creamy grits. Blacked catfish that had a nice balance of spice, also on a bed of grits. Vietnamese salad with a incredible crab cake. Calamari and grapefruit salad and finally NC sweet potatoe salad with broiled salmon. This last dish was interesting in that it was served on a bed of spinach with goat cheese, fresh blueberries and small bite size piece of baked sweet potato that may have been iighly sauted before serving. If you are in Wilmington and looking for great food from a local chef. Check it out.
This brings me to my question to you foodies in Wilmington, what other great local restaurants are out there they we should consider for dinner on Friday evening? For the past 3 years we have invariably ended up at Deluxe. Don't get me wrong, we think the food is incredible at Deluxe. We would just like to expand our horizons.
