Cat & Cloud Coffee | Pleasure Point - Santa Cruz

Melanie Wong | Feb 6, 201705:14 PM     1

Five years ago, Mom and I spent two weeks holed up in a vacation rental in Pleasure Point while her home was being repaired. Yesterday I had a chance to return to our old neighborhood to see what's new and interesting. "poser" recommended Cat + Cloud, the new roaster in town.

I had a fabulous Flat White, made with a three-origin espresso blend. Silky foam, mild yet intriguingly complex and deep coffee and a ceramic cup that fit my hand perfectly . . . what's not to like? From the case of pastries from Companion Bakeshop, I tried the kouign amann that was hard and stale as can be. But it did not dampen my enthusiasm for the coffee experience here. Nice crew too who greeted me warmly and later waved good-bye.
