We're coming to town on short notice for business this week from SF. Meeting up with a two dear old friends for dinner on Thursday. The two of us are insufferable, stereotypical SF foodies; our friends are not. We're all in our early 50's (yikes at typing that). Looking for a place where we can eat well and catch up, great cocktails a plus, but not be too fussy or expensive.
I think the newish NoMad bar would fit the bill nicely, but I'm worried about the wait. Would love to try Estela, but they're booked. They claim they set aside space for walk-ins, but it seems like a pretty small place, so I'm skeptical. Last time we met up at Momofuku Ssam which everybody liked. Blue Ribbon (Sullivan St.) would also work, but I'd love to try something new to us.
Thanks for any suggestions!
