Hi pals. Just wanted to ask some questions about this enameled cast iron pot set I found at the goodwill here. I thought they were legit vintage Le Creuset by the shape (almost identical) and thought I had hit the motherlode until I saw the wear on the wood handles (not as nice) and the lack of mark on the bottom. Bought them anyway because they were so cheap and felt so hefty.
I think they may be John Wright from the early 70s, but haven't gotten a reply back from the company yet. If anyone has any ideas, that would be awesome. Wondering if John Wright would put plastic handles on the all the lids? The photo I found of what should be this set had wood knobs. The enamel color is a warmer white, the rims are raw iron, and the enamel itself is a little bumpier than you'd expect.
I made eggs and hash this morning and the skillet did a great job, so I'll probably keep them. Just wondering about these slick impostors. Also, what size would you say the dutch oven is? No marks on a single one.
