Casa Tina in Dunedin's new space, next store to its original one, is now open. DW and I checked it out last night. The new menu still includes old favorites (I love their posole and red enchiladas) with a couple new offerings. The new space is at least twice the size of the old one, and they've done it up right, with fun, campy Mexican decor -- Day of the Dead-style murals painted on exposed brick walls, votive candles of the Virgin Mary on the tables, old black and white photos, and a mix of Mexican folk art. They've turned their original space into a cozy wine bar that also offers a smattering of tapas and desserts. While still apparently on their "soft" opening (the waiter couldn't do me for a frozen margarita because they still don't have all their equipment set up, and service was spotty though sincere), the place was packed last night, with a significant wait list. This is a great update of a Dunedin classic.
