I had my first taste of Carvel soft serve ice cream in years the other night. After a good tavern meal at Prime 16 in Pelham, my companion said: 'Let's get some Carvel!' Well, we have a few in New Rochelle and sat down at the Carvel shop on North Ave. We shared a soft serve Hot Fudge Sundae and it brought back memories galore. I could almost hear founder Tom Carvel's gravelly voice in the background pitching his product. He started Carvel in Hartsdale, N.Y. and became a local celebrity of sorts.
Have any memories of Carvel? Please share...
