Carson City tamale place

Steve timko | Aug 4, 2005 06:17 PM

I've seen the sign for The Lady Tamales while driving on Edmonds in Carson City for some time and decided to try them today.
It's small place with two tables, so I suspect most of their food is to go. I tried three tamales, one each of beef, pork and chicken. All good and worth the trip if you like good tamales.
The real revelation was the sauce. I got two containers. It was largely watery with some spices and bits of vegetable floating in it. It didn't look like much, but the taste was great. I think the salsa might be what interests a true Chowhound.
They have other items, like tacos and enchiladas. YOu can get a dozen tamales for $10.
