CARRIAGE HOUSE was just fine

this w18th st joint is sleek, modern and just fine. they have 2-4-1 happy hour 4-7pm every day and the mojitos are pretty super. i hear the margs are too ($4/ea)! we sat at the bar & the staff are all nice and professional.

i have no idea what the mains are about, but the apps are very tasty. we had sweet cheese filled empanadas ($5), duck spring rolls with a spicy side dip ($5), and shredded fish tacos w/watercress and guac on the side ($10). these are my fav fish tacos in nyc so far. downside is each of two only comes inside one corn tortilla, which falls apart easily. however, we commented and they will fix that little problem by adding anothertortilla as it should be --- or so they say they will.

we were in there early tonight 5-ish, but stayed for like three hours --- it was a lot of fun after browsing the wfmu record show at the met pavilion!
