Carolina Cooks, Carolina Eats: Documenting the Voices of North Carolina Foodways

meatn3 | Feb 13, 201512:54 AM

This is an interesting project which has just begun. Looks like there will be more on the site in April. In the meantime there is a good list of regional blogs to be found in the Resource section.

"Carolina Cooks, Carolina Eats is a new class and research project at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Department of American Studies that thematically explores the history and contemporary politics of food in five regions of North Carolina: the coast, eastern Carolina, the Piedmont, western Carolina, and a thematic landscape: the state’s borderlands."

"Our long-range goal is to create an atlas of North Carolina foodways that features the powerful food voices of North Carolinians across the state."
