First had Carnitas in Guadalajara Mexico in 1974 at a place call El Caballo Blanco. In 1980 discovered a place in Tijuana called Carnitas Uruapan near the race track. Consider them to be the best this side of Guadalajara. Now, the question! Where do I find great carnitas in Los Angeles. I've tried Zamora Bros. which I consider credible but they even have less ambience than Carnitas Uruapan and no tequila! El Mercado in East Los Angeles has a couple of credible stands but they make Zamora Bros. look good in terms of ambience. Anyone out there with any recs.?
