Carnitas at Super Antojitos Tepa, Salinas

A couple weeks ago I made it back to Super Antojitos Tepa at the end of lunch time to see if the superb carnitas tried earlier were the real deal or an apparition. I'm happy to report that the second tasting was as good as the first --- nice brown crust, succulent and juicy, well seasoned, tender.

There was only one other party in the place, unliked the crazy busy dinner hour. I ordered my tacos with the handmade tortillas, but this time, instead of being made to order, I saw the cook grab 'em from a stack and reheat them on the grill. They were still way better than machinemade, but not nearly as poufy and pillowy soft. The carne asada was okay, but far outshone by the fantastic carnitas.
