Carnitas at Ciro's

Frustrated again in my attempt to eat at Soul Folks. Locked up, got the answering machine when I called.

Since I was primed for a "don't even pretend this is healthy" meal, went to Ciro's for carnitas plate. Golfball-sized chunks of crispy fried pork. Sort of dry inside, though. Prefer the way they do it at Rafael's on Beverly and La Fuente in Highland Park. Fry up a big hunk, then chop it up. You end up with crispiness and moistness in each piece.
