Is it just me or does anyone else find the sandwiches at Carnegie Deli a bit amusing. I ordered the Special Sandwich Number 1 today which consited of something like 2 lbs of turkey, corned beef, tongue, and cole slaw on 3 feeble slices of bread. I thought that it would make a good lunch so I ordered the thing to go. When I tried eating this farcewich 3 hours later, the bread was a little moist and readily buckled under the sheer weight of the mounds of meat--making a venerable mess. In the end, I wound up picking at the meat/bread/cole slaw medley with a fork and knife. I don't even think it should be called a sandwich anymore. It's lost all of the functional convenience of your typical sandwhich and at those prices, you could pay $2 more and eat lunch at Molyvos across the street.
