Carmel Reservation Remorse/Must Dine Alternative (If Needed)

Bracchus A. Talbot | Oct 14, 2010 07:31 AM

Wife and I are traveling to Monterey/Carmel in the next few weeks for an extended weekend.

We have made reservations for Pacific's Edge for Saturday evening. We will be doing the whole cocktails, appetizers and listening to bag pipers at the Inn at Spanish Bay at Sunset, so we wouldn't be arriving until after dark.

From a couple posts on the board and some feedback I have received, the food at Pacific's Edge is good but not great and that the real experience is the view.

I am having a little bit of reservation remorse; is there a better choice or should we stick with our plans?

Dinner in San Fran Thursday evening and Passionfish in Pacific Grove on Friday evening, so we are looking for a local Cali-style one of kind meal/experience with great service. Distance won't be an issue as we will have a driver that evening.
