A colleague from out of town is in the area, and wants to go for dinner tonight. While he's open to most possibilities, he's of Lebanese descent, and we have something of an informal tradition of finding a good Lebanese place in whatever city we happen to meet up in, and then he negotiates something interesting (assuming the staff is Lebanese). The only Lebanese in Baltimore that I know of is the Carlyle(sp?) Club, and I've never been. Is it worthy of taking my friend to?
In short, if C.C. is *good* Lebanese, I'll suggest we go there, but I'd rather go with another cuisine and have a better meal, than put up with lesser quality just to get Lebanese. For the record, right now "Plan B" is likely the Helmand - somewhat similar cuisine, right quality level, and a good fit as far as general vibe. Ras Doobie or Martick's would be third choice, going for the "you won't find this anyplace else" approach.
