Carluccio's Restaurant (BYO)

There's a new BYO restaurant in the Italian Market area (located in the old Shank and Evelyn's on 10th Street between Washington Ave and Christian St) that is fabulous! My whole family (including 4 kids under 8) practically filled this small place and enjoyed every morsel. Particularly delicious was the spring mix green salad topped with very tender octopus and calamari and the homemade pasta (pappardelle with wild mushrooms, ravioli in vodka sauce and the lightest gnocci). The scallop appetizer was also cooked perfectly and the branzino fillet looked delicious (I did not have any room to even try it). For meat lovers there was also a 32 oz rib eye on the menu and a rack of lamb. My parents and 95 year old grandmother declared everything delicious and that is saying a lot from people born in Sicily who never eat Italian food out. Unfortunately, there is a small step at the entrance so it is not handicapped accessible. My grandmother had some difficulty entering. Also, the bathroom is through the kitchen. A bit strange, but my kids loved seeing all the action.
