Carl's Philly Cheesesteak -downtown

I've been trying to find a good Philly cheesesteak in NY. Today we went to Carl's Steaks, the downtown branch, for a late lunch. YUM. almost as good as Jim's in Philly. The biggest difference was one of scale - this was a bigger cheesesteak with a thicker role and more filling. The roll (not an Amoroso)is larger and a bit crustier. Fillings were more generous as well. I got a cheesesteak with onions and whiz (I like what I like, and yes, I happen to like fake cheese on my cheesesteak) and it was delicious, although a tad heavy on the whiz.

The staff were also nice, and there is room to sit down, just tables and chairs, nothing fancy.

I would definitely go again.
