A small cluster of eating establishments (i.e. two) has appeared at the northern tip of Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint, including, surprisingly, a Carribean place called Bleu Drawes at Commercial and Manhattan Aves. I don't know if it's just that Steve, the owner/chef, hasn't figured out how to streamline his food yet, but it tastes remarkably homemade at the moment. The jerk chicken is amazingly succulent and spicy, and the special fish dishes, while more expensive, are fabulous. They did raise their prices after about a week, but it's still reasonably cheap for what you get. I work around the corner, have suffered from a lack of culinary options for a long time, and am deeply uncertain about whether the location will sustain them: so go.
