Caribbean Corner in Fairfax - Report

Steve | Nov 9, 201308:02 PM

Caribbean Corner is a true dive right in the heart of historic Fairfax City. It's located down a flight of steps, where there are some surprisingly spacious tables and a big kitchen.

I got a Friday special of jerk pork with rice and peas and a side of cabbage. I like trying specials, though I do not judge a Jamaican place by their jerk; unless they are a serious about smoking, it's never satisfying like the real thing.

The pork was tasty with a lot of sauce on it, though it seemed more baked than anything else. I very much enjoyed the fluffy and spicy rice, and the cabbage side had just the right amount of crunch.

This is a place worth knowing about if you are in the area, and I am encouraged to go back and try the other offerings.
