Caribbean American Bakery

After my huitlacoche fill, we needed something sweet and decide to check out the caribbean american bakery on howard.

We ordered from there: 1 plaintain turnover, 1 very large peanut butter cookie, 1 large coconut cookie, a piece of corn cake, a sizeable brownie, 2 cupcakes, 1 sweet potato pudding cake--total $6.16

The plaintain turnover was mushy and forgettable; the peanut butter cookie, well better are available elswehere; cupcakes are cupcakes; brownie was pretty good; The coconut cookie was crispy at first bite but with chew on the inside, nice flavor of coconut but with some interesting spicing in there as well-allspice? Corn cake was fluffy and tasty and the sweet potato thing upon reheat this morning was like a nice piece of pie with raisins and nutmeg filling out the mix.

A good bargain and an interesting place if you are in the area.

One question - Jerk was listed on the blackboard. Has anyone had it there?
