So long as a few little hitches go well, I will be South Wales based (4 days a week) for the better part of the next 9 months. Judging by the meal I had today at a Wetherspoons in Newport, I need some pointers. What can I expect to find in Cardiff and what is particularly excellent? For once I can say that budget is not a significant factor, but I obviously prefer my usual things ("ethnic" eats to use a silly term.)
I think most of the regulars on here know what I like, but in short
- Regional Chinese
- South Asian
- West African, especially Senegalese and Ivorian food.
Out of the above, I -need- serviceable Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Nepali/Anything South Asian food otherwise I will start having intense withdrawal symptoms, tremors, night sweats, etc.
Otherwise in this case I am surprisingly game for new British cuisine and all that jazz.
