I have a bag of caramels that I've had for a while. There is no expiration date on them, but they are not as soft as when I bought them. Are they O.K., and do you think I can add them to a brownie mix, to make caramel brownies? If so, how do I incorporate them into the mix? Should I melt them with some cream and then add like I would when making marble cake? Thank you in advance!
