Captiva review

Went to the Bubble Room last week on our first trip to Sanibel/Captiva area.

I've been hearing about this place for what seems like decades, from my co-workers. Yes, the deserts are the size of Texas, yes the decor is kitchy and cute, but the food was so-so at best (my shrimp were undercooked), and their infamous "Bubble Bread" IMHO, was a horrible concoction of cheeses (way too much parmesean)and garlic. It should have been warm and gooey. When it was served to us it was like it was cooked way too much, but it was cold! YUCK!!!

My advise if you are in the area? A before dinner beer or wine outside at sunset at the Mucky Duck, then dinner inside the Duck after sunset, then if you must, head over to the Bubble Room for a desert to share.
