I am taking my parents out to dinner tomorrow night and have been searching for a great restaurant...i've sifted through all the capitol region threads i could find here but there isn't so much. also it seems that the local papers seem to be generally positive about almost every single review ive read. also, although i know saratoga will be a nice place, im afraid it will be slammed with weekenders by friday? can anyone confirm/deny this?
i need very discerning chowhound opinions... :)
here are the restrictions:
- my mom cannot eat "spicy" food, or as she sees it, nothign too wildly spiced or experimental (sadly she's not too open)
- id like to show them something other than the few places they consistently dine at...something a bit more creative but with fulfilling portions for your $
- good atmosphere (this doesnt necessarily mean ''fancy''..just an ambiance, be it quaint, historical, etc.)
- and lastly, something hopefully not too pricey (entrees staying primary in the lower 20s?)
Thanks for the help!
