"Cape" Scallops

In the fish department tonight, I ran across packages of frozen "Mexican " scallops. The label then went on to say they were a product of Peru. They were about the size of Cape Scallops as I know them midpoint between a large sea scallop and those little Bay scallops that look like outside pencil erasers. Has anyone tried them, and are they as tender as, say, a sea scallop/ The price was half that of the sea scallops, and they had a yellowish color... Is this a bargain, or another example of getting what you pay for?
