Cape Cod Russet Chips-UH-OH

Mike R. | Nov 6, 200412:57 AM     5

The once splendid Cape Cod Dark Russet potato chips have suddenly morphed into an inferior, more salty, somewhere nearer to the old "Golden" Russet except now a less flavorful, dumbed-down product called "ROBUST RUSSET"...guess what, if the folks at Cape Cod intended to kill TWO great products by hybridizing them, they've succeeded.

Unless there's a shortage on darkies this year and the Cape-ers had to make do, I sure hope this is an experiment and nothing permanent...and to think that the bag scored at Super Stop 'n' Shop was a mere 7 days from factory fresh. Say it ain't so, but Wise and Lay's Kettle-Cooked could steal market share if the Cape's not careful.
