Just returned from a great week in the Mid-Cape area. While we took advice from fellow clam fans we have discovered another great one. Our favorite was Cooke's (a winner year after year) but in second place (and it was close) was The Main St. Grille in Hyannis. They are the winner of the Chowder feast this year (which was also quite fine) but the clams are mightly good. The absolutely worst, and I'm talking inedible by even children's standard were Baxters in Hyannis. Whatever they're frying in makes your lips numb and coats the roof of your mouth with a bizarre gack. They have great atmosphere but don't eat there. Then of course we also checked out many ice cream places. Our favorite flavor is ginger (unbelievable) but our favorite place (which doesn't have ginger but does have great peppermint) is Blondies in Yarmouth. Hope these tips help some fellow Cape lovers.
