cantoon garden

i went to cantoon garden last night on nina's rec for soft-shell crabs. they were, indeed, excellent. i haven't been to noodletown yet this year, but it's hard to imagine better softshell crabs than these. they were pretty close to perfect.

we also had the pea shoots w/ 2 kinds of egg. it was good enough but didn't blow us away. the pea shoots were sitting in a lot of broth. we took them out of the broth, and they were a little bland. then later we realized the broth itself was very tasty - perhaps meant to be eaten along with the pea shoots? i liked the preserved egg, but in the end i probably prefer my pea shoots sauteed with garlic.

it was funny - when we ordered, the waiter said, "did somebody send you here? nina?" we had to admit it was true. nina, you're famous!

what other dishes are good at cantoon garden?
