It always annoys me when health n diet people recommend canola oil over all others. I understand it's the healthiest, but also the least flavourful... leading people to eat more, and be less satisfied, than if they used olive or peanut (also very healthy, I believe). Both these oils just have so much more flavour than canola. I'd rather have salad with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon than any commercial dressing made with canola. I'd rather have one tablespoon of olive oil than two of canola.
So, chowhounds, do you use canola? When & why?
