Hey all,
Going down to Canalside for the free concerts tomorrow night. Any suggestions for a spot to eat in that area? Would rather park in one spot and eat around there is there is a decent option. The thread I see mentioning Canalside specifically are pretty old so would appreciate any advice! Any cuisine and prefer medium price range.
Lloyd's Taco Truck will be at Canalside from 6:00. Lines may be long though. The only eatery I've seen right in Canalside is Tim Horton's, but that's blah. There's a new sports bar nearby, called 716 Food and Sport, if you want bar food and good brews. Other than that, there's Pearl Street Brewery, a short walk from Canalside. That would probably be the best option considering food and drink together.
Liberty Hound comes highly recommended, but will probably be crowded.

We're going to their July 4th party on the retired Navy destroyer in the harbor.
Thanks for the recs. We ended up having a delay so we ate at the food trucks instead. Pricey for what you get but had a kafta from one spot (Amy's I think?) that was good (wish they warmed up the pita though) and also a slice from the pizza place which was good (but pricey at $5).
Loved the area and a great venue for a free concert. Highly recommend checking it out for those that are local. Sheepdogs, another Canadian band are playing next week.
Skip the lines and go to Roux, located on the fifth floor of the Buffalo News and open to the public. Call ahead to make sure they'll be open the evening of your visit. They are open for breakfast and lunch, M-F. It's manned by a co-owner of Liberty Hound and has expansive views from its outdoor terrace.
Good news! (When I replied earlier, I hadn't been to a Thursday at Canalside concert yet this season.) There are plenty of food trucks parked within the concert venue during the Thursday night events, if food trucks are your thing. I like the variety.
