We are hosting Thanksgiving this weekend and I haven't cooked a Thanksgiving dinner for years and years so have been combing the CH boards and recipe sites for tips. There will only be six of us, but people are arriving around lunchtime on Saturday and spending the night, so I am hoping to have an all-day feast! So far, I am thinking:

Lunchtime:
-Lucques' squash and fennel soup with candied pumpkin seeds
-ricotta and pear crostini with sage

Afternoon:
-April Bloomfield's trout pate (first time trying this)
-step mom is bringing a cheese plate
-bacon-wrapped water chestnuts
-crudite with dip (need a dip recipe and/or some other fresh / veg appetizer)

Dinner:
-turkey (dry-brined Judy Bird - first time trying it)
-gravy (need a recipe!)
-stuffing (deciding between Kenji's sausage/sage, Giada's pancetta/chestnut, epicurious simple is best)
-mashed potatoes (Suzanne Goin's)
-Kenji's green bean casserole (first time trying)
-roasted carrots and parsnips with thyme
-kale and brussels sprouts salad (maybe the epicurious recipe with pecorino and walnuts: https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/fo...)
-devilled eggs and dinner rolls

Dessert: I have ordered a pumpkin pie and bourbon pecan pie from our local bakery and will pick up some gluten free brownies as well.

My stepmom can't eat wheat, but other than that no dietary restrictions. I may try and make two stuffings and use GF bread for one of them.

I would love any recommendations/tips/insights anyone cares to share, particularly about the recipes above that I have not yet tried. I have Thursday and Friday off so am hoping to prep lots in advance.
