Restaurants & Bars 13

Cambria area

Renee | Dec 21, 2005 07:18 PM

My (teenage) son and I are doing the Hearst Castle tour thing next week, and I think (from reading previous posts) that we've got the lunch/dinner list choices down:

Cambria: Robins, Linn's Cafe, Indigo Moon, Sea Chest, Courtyard Deli, Main Street Grill
Moonstone Beach: Hamlet, Moonstone Beach BAr & Grill
San Simeon: Ragged Point Inn & Restaurant
Cayucos: Hoppe's
Morro Bay: The Outrigger, Taco Temple, Giovanni's

So my questions are: Do any of these places require a reservation? Any dress code, or is "California Casual" OK? Any must-try dishes at any of these places?

And on a side, non-food note, is it OK to take Rte 46 across from Hwy 101 (we're driving south from the Bay Area) or better to go down to SLO and then take Hwy 1 back up? I need to save as much driving time as possible. (I've only driven to the area from LA.)

Thanks in advance, Chowhounds!
