this is something i've been wondering about for a while.
robert sietsema of the voice has written in the past that fortunata's in middle village, queens had the best calzone. i tried it a while back and waasn't overly impressed, though to be fair it wasn't fresh out of the oven so i'd like to give it another chance.
any other places known for their calzones? i realize this is a subgenre of italian american food that is surprisingly lacking in nyc, but just wanted to hear what you guys thought.
incidentally, i googled fortunata's and found out that they have a second location on knickerbocker ave in bushwick, brooklyn. has anyone been, and if so, is it any good?
as always, thx in advance for your input, guys.
