Calling all Klaus Fans! (long)

Hi All,

Last night I went to Klaus with my Dad and, as usual, had an outstanding meal.

The meal started out with the traditional liver dumpling soup. I then ordered the "Koprova", which is pickled beef in a sour cream dill gravy, with dumplings and cabbage.

My Dad ordered the combo duck with breaded pork tenderloin. The duck was outstanding, not fatty and cooked perfectly moist. The meal was finished off with cheese kolachki's (sp?)and a strawberry slice to go!

The bill was a little over $20, not including tip. This place is a real gem and I have been going there since I was a baby. My mom is czech and my Dad is Mexican, so I really am a product of the area. As we sat there we started talking with one of the night managers who had worked there for 10 years. He was saying how business has gone down and they aren't getting the repeat clientele they used to. Also the area has changed so much the new owners don't know how to target that market, among other poor choices. Like not having enough servers, so you have to wait forever to be taken care of...

Basically because of poor management it might not be with us for much longer. Last night was their last Monday night open. This place has withstood the test of time and we really need to support it. So go and eat and introduce it to people who have never been there.

Also, I'm going to write a letter to the manager, letting him know some of the problems I have experienced since the new ownership, because sometimes you need to point out the obvious to people. If you are so inclined do the same and maybe our combined efforts will make an impact.

If not, go and eat there while it's still around!
