Calle Ocho (Upper West Side) brief review

Brian Crist | Aug 21, 2003 11:14 AM

I went to Calle Ocho last night (81st and Columbus). I have been there a few times before and it has been a hit or miss proposition. I really feel that the food is inconsistent there. Last night I had the salmon, which was actually quite good. The person I was with had a couple of empanadas, which seemed rather flavorless. However, the various Mojitos there were good as was some sherry we had. I do like the atmosphere of the place. But I am not sure I am going back based on the inconsistent food I have had there over the past few years.
