Calgary: need advice in a LOT of issues

Rete | Sep 21, 2004 01:38 PM

Hi everybody,

we just moved to Calgary after living three years in Manhattan (we are originally from Barcelona) and, as you can guess, would appreciate any kind of food advice. I'll try to list our questions below, not in any particular order. If it helps, we are now living in the NW quadrant with some friends, but may be moving in a couple of months or so to an apartment...

1. Sushi. Where do we go to eat fresh, good sushi? So far, we tried sushi kawa and didn't enjoy it that much...
2. Supplies: I'd like to know where to buy nice seafood, fish, meat, bread... and if there are any specialty food stores that you recommend, like italian delis or asian grocery stores...
3. Serrano Ham. Can I find Jamon Serrano (Serrano Ham) anywhere in Calgary? I'd be more than willing to travel... what about other spanish foods?

ANY kind of advice will be very welcome, really!! Even if it is not related to the questions above, like a web page with liknks or similar.

Thanks a lot!!
