I was given a beautiful jar of fresh ginger preserves and want to bake a cake with it without simply dumping the preserves into a cake to make a gingerbread-ish spice cake. Something that preserves (ha!) the sparkling integrity of the ginger preserves. If I could write a recipe, I would create an olive oil pear cake with cardamom, sandwiched with sweetened ginger preserves. Whatdya think? Can ya steer me to a recipe? TIA!
