Baked an apple ginger cake yesterday for today. Packed it in airtight container. The crispy top, which yesterday was like a sheet of thin crispy glass from the sprinkling of turbinado sugar before baking, is today like any other cake texture. I know it won't affect the taste overall but the crisp top would have been a welcomed contrast. Can this be 'restored'?
